ABA Therapy
ABA –Is a method of teaching which includes errorless learning and positive reinforcement to bring positive changes to behaviour. There are a variety of teaching strategies that are used with ABA which include Discrete Trial Training (DTT), BF Skinners Verbal Behaviour Therapy. Each child will be assessed using the ABLLS (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills) and provided with an independent program based on their skill level and needs. Children will receive a minimum of 2 hours of therapy at a minimum of 2 days/week. Therapy can take place in the child’s home, child care centre, or at Connect the Dots centre.
Each program will be updated every 2-3 weeks by the Senior Therapist and a monthly program update will then be provided to the family. ABLLS will be updated every 6 months.
Every program includes sensory intervention, fine/gross motor skills, self-regulation and social skills.
SELF-REGULATION and SOCIAL SKILL GROUP PROGRAM
This program is geared towards children with behaviour challenges and children that need to develop social skills and self-regulation. The program focuses on self-regulation, emotions and coping strategies as well as independent work skills. The program runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays for older children and Mondays and Wednesdays for younger children. This program is beneficial for children with ADHD, Anxiety, ASD, and behaviour issues.
CTD works with each child’s school and home to help implement the goals and strategies into the school setting.
